Piedmont Federal Bank Digital Privacy Policy

This Digital Privacy Policy describes the personal information Piedmont Federal Bank ("Piedmont," "we," or "us") collects about you, how we use or disclose your information, your rights related to your personal information, and how we secure your information. This Digital Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected, used, or shared by us or on our behalf, including information collected through our website at www.piedmontfederal.bank (the “Site”), by email, or anywhere else we display this Digital Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). By using or interacting with the Digital Services, you accept and consent to the terms of our Digital Privacy Policy in effect at the time of your use or visit.

Information We Collect and How We Collect It

Personal information is information that directly or indirectly identifies you or can be used to identify you as an individual. We collect information in the following ways:

1. Information You Provide: Depending on how you interact with the Site or Digital Services, we may collect certain information you choose to provide to us. For example:

  • General Information: When you register for Digital Services, communicate with us, or use certain other features of the Site or Digital Services, you may provide general contact and demographic information, such as your name, mobile telephone number, email address, postal or physical address, or your business name and company contact information.
  • Account Information: In addition to the General Information noted above, we may also collect information from applications such as your date of birth, income, employer, Social Security number, state-issued ID, username, password, and other information necessary to provide our banking services to you or your business. Please also refer to our Privacy Notice for additional disclosures and rights that apply to our banking customers.
  • Financial Planning Tools: From time to time, we may provide financial planning tools on the Site, which you can use to help make financial decisions from the comfort of your home. When you use these financial planning tools, we will not capture any of your personal information for our use; if we do so, we will let you know.
  • Information You Relay: We may also collect personal information you choose to provide to us via email, our phone system, or any other communications you make. Please remember that when you send electronic mail over the Digital, that email is not necessarily secure against interception. When selecting "Contact Us by Email," you should only send information that is of a non-sensitive and non-confidential nature. If the information you wish to convey to us is of a very sensitive nature (such as your bank account number, Social Security number, etc.), you should convey it to us through Online Banking by selecting "Account Services," then "Messages" to send a secure email.
  • Location Services: Verify your identity and/or location (or the identity or location of your authorized representative) for security, fraud prevention and other risk control purposes.

Please also note that we will never ask you to confirm your account number, password, PIN, or other personal information via email. We may call you directly with questions to update or verify account information or to clarify information if you are applying for a loan. In these cases, our employees will introduce themselves by name and give you a specific reason for the request.

2. Information Collected Automatically:

  • We may use “cookies” (small elements of data that are stored directly on the computer you are using) on some pages of our Site for the purpose of customizing your experience on the Site and serving you better when you return to our Site.
